Due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas and the high degree of security alert in France, the event planned for next month has been postponed.

In light of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) have called off their event scheduled for next month.

Thirty Seconds to Mars, Jung Kook of BTS, and Renée Rapp were set to play in Paris on November 5.

Every year, MTV holds the MTV Europe Music Awards to honour the best in international music. But watching the tragic developments in Israel and Gaza, it does not seem like a time for worldwide rejoicing, a spokeswoman for the corporation stated. In her opinion, with hundreds of lives gone, it is a period of sadness.

Hamas launched a historic onslaught on Israel on the 7th of October, murdering over 1,400 people and capturing over 200 prisoners, marking the most significant war up-tick in decades. Palestinian health experts estimate that 3,700 people have been killed in Gaza as a direct result of Israel’s severe air attacks.

In addition, the statement said that the choice was taken out of ample amount of caution for the thousands of workers, crew members, artists, spectators, and partners that come from all corners of the globe to put on the show.

However, the MTV European Music Awards will be back in the fall of 2024. Best artist nominees for the next edition are SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift.
